John Ward Knox’s artistic inquiry critiques the relationship between space and object, privileging the story of an artwork rather than the object itself.
John Ward Knox is a conceptual artist whose practice spans a number of media, including installation, video, drawing and sculpture. Graduating from the University of Auckland’s Elam School of Fine Arts with an MFA in 2008, Ward Knox received the Frances Hodgkins Fellowship in 2015 and his work has been exhibited at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Chartwell Collection, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, and James Wallace Arts Trust.
