Call for Proposals: HAMSTER Magazine Issues Ono and Whitu
Do You Believe?
The HAMSTER Editorial Group is now asking for your proposals of texts, visual works, and recorded audio contributions to be published in HAMSTER Magazine, issues Ono and Whitu, by midnight on Sunday March 29.
We want to read proposals that address the provocation: Do you believe?
Proposals could respond to how belief has affected artists, institutions, and the ways in which stories have (or have not) been told about artistic practice in Aotearoa since the year 2000.
Please include in your proposal:
— A 100-400 word outline of the proposed text, visual work, or recorded audio contribution.
— Contribution Length: Poetry and visual work up to 6 A4 pages, and other texts up to 2000 words plus images/illustrations. Audio contributions up to 30 minutes.
— A short bio (max 100 words). Links to websites/portfolios are welcome.
— 1-2 links or attachments to previous projects of relevance.
— Excerpts of proposed work already in development are welcome but we will not re-publish work already published elsewhere.
Please submit proposals as a single file (pdf or doc) to hamster@physicsroom.org.nz by midnight on March 29. Please note, if accepted, full drafts will be required by mid-May. All contributors will recieve a fee.
HAMSTER issues Ono and Whitu will also be recorded and distributed as audio books. We will work with each contributor on the production of this component. See below for a downloadable and screen-reader friendly version of these proposal details.
If you have any questions about your proposal before submitting, please email us to talk more. We are happy to discuss the above provocations and anything about the contribution you would like to propose.
