Lonnie Hutchinson is an artist who draws on her Samoan, Ngāi Tahu, and Celtic ancestry to create a sophisticated visual language which expresses sociopolitical, gender, and cultural concerns. Tele i’a O Le Sami / Let me hear your whisper, is a unique variant of her cut-out works, which uses a brightly coloured wallpaper. The title is taken from a popular Samoan love song, sung in Samoan and English together.
