The 121212 Upstage Festival of Cyberformance is an international festival of live online performances in two parts: ‘Walking Backwards Into the Future’, 5-11 December, followed by ‘Testing 1 2 1 2 1 2’, 12 December.

‘Walking Backwards Into the Future’ consists of online performances from past festivals that will be made available on the Upstage Festival website in a retrospective showcase. As a live performance artform, cyberformance is fleeting and often leaves little trace, so this component of 121212 both enables artists to restage previous works and creates an archive of cyberformance.

On 12 December, ‘Testing 1 2 1 2 1 2’ will premier a series of new live performances from across the world. These will be accessible online via the website, but they will also feature at various physical sites, including The Physics Room Sandyford St space.
