LOG Illustrated
was a contemporary art magazine. LOG was published in tabloid format
three times a year by the Physics Room, a Creative
New Zealand funded contemporary art project space in Christchurch,
New Zealand. It was been edited since inception by Tessa Laird,
and was last co-edited by Gwynneth Porter. Our last designer is
Richard Shaw (after stalwart designer Warren Olds became too busy
teaching).
Rather than being strictly about-art dialogue-based, LOG was conceived,
in 1997, to provide a site for artists and writers to experiment
with images and texts in a print format. We supported writing-as-art
and new pageworks from a variety of art practitioners both from
New Zealand and overseas. We payed nominal fees to contributors.
The website features key articles and pageworks
from each issue of LOG. From issue 9 onward, each www edition of
the magazine was accompaned by special online-only-content.
Articles are still being added to the online archive of Log magazine so check our news page for updates.
LOG was produced with the generous assistance of Creative
New Zealand / Toi Aotearoa
