Sound Performance Dr Philip Samartzis and Lawrence English Tuesday 22 November 2005, 8pm Note: Due to illness Lawrence English was unable to perform. So Bruce Russell was invited to perform. Australian sound artists Dr Philip Samartzis and Lawrence English have a dual history in sound installation art. In this one night only event they will present solo and collaborative sound performances. Dr Philip Samartzis is currently co-ordinator and lecturer in Sound at the RMIT School of Art, and has just completed his doctorate in surround sound and installation. Lawrence English is a writer, musician and media artist based in Brisbane, Australia. English works across a range of art forms, his work is eclectic and is characterised by a long-term exploration of audio/visual environments.
