The Kiosk has departed on a voyage to the future! It has vacated its current premises to make way for the new tram tracks. Our friendly time travelling capsule shall return impeccably revamped, gleaming and ready for equally new exhibitions in late 2010! This mini exhibition space will be located in the same busy intersection and promises to be as visible as ever.

If you’re interested in exhibiting in the brand new redesigned kiosk send us an email at kiosk@physicsroom..org.nz. A floor plan of the new space will be available shortly.

The Kiosk

Resembling a grey tardis with observation windows, The Kiosk is located in the busy pedestrian sector at the intersection of High, Lichfield and Manchester Streets (just one block away from The Physics Room), making it the most public Physics Room art site.

The Kiosk began in 2000 as an initiative of the Oblique Trust, but since May 2003 has been under the auspices of the Physics Room.

The Kiosk is a mini-exhibition space with power, halogen lights and built-in speakers, with floor dimensions of 700mm along the windows, 557mm at the narrowest end, 710mm at the widest end and 705mm high.

Expressions of interest from artists and curators are welcome at any time.
